Twitter Feed Categories

The Twitter feed is organized into different categories to help you filter and focus on specific types of content:

  • Traders - Posts from cryptocurrency traders and analysts
  • Crypto News - News and updates from crypto news sources
  • Bots - Automated feeds and relay accounts
  • All - Combined view of all categories

You can switch between these categories using the tabs at the top of the Twitter feed module.

Account Filtering

Twitter Eye
note
  • You can click the eye symbol next to any tweet to hide that specific account from your feed. You can reset your filter by clicking Clear Filter button in the settings.
  • Filtered accounts are managed in the News Trading settings panel.

Freeze on Hover Feature

The Twitter feed includes a "Freeze on Hover" feature that allows you to pause the real-time updates when you're actively reading tweets. This prevents content from disappearing or shifting unexpectedly while you're focused on specific posts.

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to SettingsNews Trading
  2. Check the "Freeze news feed on hover" option

When enabled, the feed will automatically freeze when you hover over it, and a "Scroll frozen" indicator will appear to let you know the feed is paused.

Text Highlighting System

The Twitter feed includes a comprehensive text highlighting system that automatically emphasizes important keywords and allows you to create custom highlight rules.

Built-in Highlights

The system automatically highlights certain words with predefined colors:

  • Green Highlights - Bullish/positive terms like "buy", "bullish", "profit", "pump", "long", "ATH"
  • Red Highlights - Bearish/negative terms like "sell", "bearish", "loss", "dump", "short", "ATL"
  • Yellow Highlights - Important entities and events like "Binance", "SEC", "ETF", "Fed", "CPI", "FOMC"

Custom Highlight Rules

You can create your own highlight rules to emphasize specific keywords that are important to your trading strategy:

  1. Go to SettingsNews Trading
  2. Scroll down to the "Highlights" section
  3. Enter keywords separated by commas (e.g., "bitcoin, ethereum, solana")
  4. Choose a color from the dropdown (orange, green, blue, red, yellow, purple, pink, teal, gray)
  5. Click "Add" to create the rule

Example Custom Rules:

  • bitcoin,btc with orange color
  • ethereum,eth with blue color
  • solana,sol with purple color
  • binance,coinbase with green color

The custom highlights take priority over built-in highlights and will make your specified keywords stand out in the feed.

Critical Alerts

Critical alerts allow you to set up filters that will make specific tweets more prominent when they contain certain keywords or phrases.

Setting Up Critical Alerts

  1. Go to SettingsNews Trading
  2. Find the "Critical Alerts" section
  3. Enter your filter criteria and press Enter

Filter Syntax

  • Single Keywords: Enter a single word to highlight tweets containing that term
  • Multiple Keywords with AND Logic: Use + to require all keywords to be present
    • Example: binance+trade - matches tweets containing both "binance" AND "trade"
    • Example: bitcoin+crash+alert - matches tweets containing all three words

Use Cases

Critical alerts are useful for:

  • Breaking News: Set up alerts for major events like "SEC+approval" or "ETF+launch"
  • Exchange Issues: Monitor for problems with "binance+down" or "coinbase+outage"
  • Market Moves: Track significant movements with "bitcoin+breakout" or "crash+alert"
  • Regulatory News: Stay informed with "SEC+enforcement" or "CFTC+investigation"

When a tweet matches your critical alert criteria, it will be visually emphasized in the feed to ensure you don't miss important information.

Trading the News in Twitter

In a recent update to Tealstreet we added the ability to place orders based on keywords inside the twitter & news feed modules. This allows you to quickly place a long or short order without needing to pull up the chart first. A way to potentially get a much quicker entry on a trade.

  • You can activate News Trading by going to the Modules panel in the terminal settings page.
News Trading Settings
  • Once activated and customized as you like you will now be able to quickly act on trades from within the twitter feed module:

note

Please be careful when using this feature as it can lead to unintended trades if you are not careful. Sometimes a tweet will come across that has no relation to crypto at all and can still trigger the detection system to generate trade buttons. We are working on ways to improve this feature in the future.

Advanced Features

The Twitter feed module includes several advanced features:

  • Retweet and Quote Support - Full display of retweeted and quoted content with proper attribution
  • Media Support - Images and videos are displayed inline within the feed
  • Text Highlighting - Custom highlight rules can be applied to emphasize specific keywords
  • Collapsible Content - Long tweets can be collapsed to save space
  • Auto-scroll - New tweets automatically scroll to the top when you're not actively viewing the feed
  • Virtual Scrolling - Efficient rendering of large numbers of tweets for smooth performance

You can customize the Twitter feed behavior through the News Trading settings:

  • Freeze on Hover - Pause feed updates when hovering
  • Filtered Accounts - Manage which accounts to hide from your feed
  • Text Collapsing - Enable/disable collapsing of long tweet text
  • Word Breaking - Control how long words are handled in the display
